Helping More Families: 2024 Impact and 2025 Goals

Supporting Parents Facing Advanced Pediatric Cancer and Bereavement

2024 was a transformative year for Zach’s Bridge in many ways and we are grateful to all our donors, partners, advisers and supporters.  In 2024, we nearly doubled our goal for the number of parents we helped – validating our approach and research. We’re expanding our services to help even more parents in 2025.

In 2024 we also expanded our services.  We launched Zach’s Bridge in 2023 to  provide 1:1 peer support for parents and caregivers dealing with terminal pediatric cancer. Our trained mentors, who have similar lived experiences, help families with connection and compassion, facing daily challenges and issues that include tissue donations, palliative care and hospice and finding needed resources, such as financial assistance.

We initially focused on prereavement—which includes anticipatory grief, making significant life and relationship adjustments to the changes cancer brings and making the most of limited time. But after receiving countless requests to bring our 1:1 peer matching model to bereavement, we expanded our services to include both prereavement and bereavement, in the fall of 2024.

Please take a moment to explore our 2024 Impact Report and 2025 Priorities. We’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or just connect.  Thank you for your continued support in addressing this critical need.  As we learned from Zach in his Rules for Life, Keep Moving Forward.
