CureFest and the Jimmy Fund Walk 2023

We started out at our first ever childhood cancer conference, CureFest, on September 22-24 in Washington DC. This is the largest gathering of childhood cancer nonprofits, fighters and advocates in the world – as least as far as we know.

Advocating for Childhood Cancer Resources on Capitol Hill

We had meetings with Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s staff, House Minority Whip and Congresswoman Katherine Clark’s staff, Senator Ed Markey and his staff, and Senator Elizabeth Warren’s staff. We also had a brief meeting with Katherine Clark for a photo opportunity. We’ve included a picture of us with Ed Markey as we don’t yet have the pictures with Katherine Clark.

Zach’s Story and Rules for Life at Dana-Farber Open Forum

In January, we were invited to share Zach’s story with everyone who works at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.  Zach was treated there and in spite of the fact that he wasn’t cured, it is an amazing place with everyone singularly focused on helping treat, fight and support cancer patients and their families.
